I am a 4th generation Maine native who grew up in Kennebunk the youngest of 5. My wife Kate and I built a small eco-friendly home in Arundel in 2016 where we live with one cat, three goats and 9 solar panels.
Growing up my dad had a bicycle repair shop that he ran out of our large barn right in the center of town. My first experience with tools in my hands was fixing flat tires when I was in grade school. I went on to spend several years working for my father in the early 1980’s, who by that time was doing plumbing & heating work locally as well as wiring houses (he was a master electrician). When he retired I worked as a carpenter, landscaper, apprentice electrician and windmill mechanic before beginning a 30 year career in HVAC controls. Along the way Kate and I have done too many DIY renovations on our homes to count. Bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms. Tearing out old plaster and lath walls and ceilings. Framing, insulating, sheetrocking, wiring, roofing, plumbing, trim work and painting on repeat.
Along this journey I have accumulated tools, skills and knowledge that form the foundation of Wentworth Home Care & Repair. More importantly perhaps, is the ethic I intend to bring to this work. I have chosen “Competence-Communication-Cleanliness” as the WHCR slogan because those tenets seem to be the primary weaknesses of service contractors and the things that dissatisfied clients most often speak about.
